Monthly Visit to Somewhere New: January

This month (as part of my monthly resolution to visit new places) I dragged the kids (and Eddy, who wasn’t feeling that great) to the Seattle Art Museum to see the Impressionist exhibit before it closed. I wasn’t actually that impressed. There were a couple of nice pieces that I hadn’t seen before, but few others seemed really special. Kate particularly liked this Renoir painting however.

The kids, especially, were not impressed, but they did snap out of it and actually looked at and commented on a bunch of other things. We sped through the rest of the museum, and seeing as how I bought a membership for the year, we can definitely go back and see what we didn’t see on this visit.

Musical Kids

I often joke that I married Eddy because I wanted my kids to have musical talent, but when I see their ability to pick up an instrument and start playing music, well, with very little previous experience, I don’t think it’s much of a joke. Admittedly they need more practice and more instruction, but it’s not a bad start!
