Road Trip Day Five

Day Five was busy. We knew from the get go that we wanted to go to three places: the Dinosaur Museum, the Cowboy Museum and the Natural History Museum, but that we would only have two days to squeeze them in.

So,we dropped Penelope off at doggy day care (she was very worried) and headed off to the Dinosaur Museum, where, it must be said, there are not actually any dinosaurs. I can’t even count the number of times that I’ve visited the Page, and it’s always fun to take the kids somewhere that I remember going when I was little. It certainly hasn’t changed much, even the welcome video is still the same as it’s been for the past forty years!

Then, after a nice lunch at Calendar’s Grill, we went to the Cowboy Museum. There was a really interesting exhibit on Route 66. Some day I would love to drive the length of it.

(No, I’m not doing anything to Owen in this picture.)

After the museums we went back to doggy day care to pick up Penelope, and then Eddy and the kids ran off to the pool!

For dinner we went to a BBQ restaurant that we’ve been to several times before, delish. Jonah ate more than Eddy did, and nearly threw up afterwards, his stomach was so full. #CantWaitforTeenagers

Road Trip Day Four

Day Four was spent on the road, again.

This time, however, our journey only took a measly five hours! We arrived in LA in time for Eddy to watch most of the US/Belgium match on the hotel TV (he had to watch the first fifteen minutes on his phone).

Road Trip Day Three

The countryside was so dry! I had overheard a group of people at dinner the night before talking about the effects of the drought on Tuolumne County (and Norther California in general) and we could really see it as we made our way south.

Once we arrived at the hotel, Eddy watched his game and I took the kids swimming. When the game was over (we lost! boo! at least there’s still France!) and the kids’ wigglies were out, we headed off to Grandpa’s house. Owen immediately started trying to coax any of the many stray outdoors cats to make friends–not that that was going to happen with two dogs around!
